The Vice-President of the Federal Assembly of the Federal Republic of Germany and the German police leaders are enthralled in the activities of the mission
On Monday 20 February 2017, the Deputy President of the Bundestag – the Federal Assembly – Federal Republic of Germany, Mrs Edelgard Bulmahn, a Member of Parliament and German police leaders visited EUCAP Sahel Mali
As part of her visit to the German forces deployed in the country, a delegation led by the Vice-President of the German Federal Assembly, Mrs Edelhard Bulmahn, met with the Head of Mission Albrecht Conze and members of his team of trainers and advisers . Mrs Bulmahn was accompanied by Mrs Susanne Mittag, a member of the Bundestag and advisers from the German Ministry of the Interior.
After an introduction and a summary of the results and challenges of the Mission by Mr Conze and three German trainers from EUCAP Sahel Mali, the Vice-President of the Bundestag reaffirmed the commitment of the German Government to support the EUCAP Sahel Mali Mission .
Helmuth Teichmann, Director-General of Police Affairs of the German Ministry of Interior and German section head of the German police, Markus Bierschenk, stressed the explicit support that the German police will give to the forces and that the Mission will be able to rely on new trainers and advisers in the future.
After the visit to the Mission, the delegation, accompanied by the Head of Mission EUCAP Sahel Mali, met with the Minister of Internal Security and Civil Protection, General Salif Traoré. This was to discuss a future collaborative framework with support of the mission.
